A Dell for kids, the Latitude 2100

The "Activity Light"

Laptop Mag has a review of the Dell Latitude 2100, a netbook targeted at the education market. It has all you'd expect for a netbook, ie an Atom processor, RAM and OS, like the Inspiron Mini. However, Dell is targeting the Latitude 2100 at kids in kindergarten, all the way to the eighth grade (Form two for us in Malaysia?). So Dell made sure the Latitude 2100 is going to survive the abuse.

It's covered in a rubber casing so it's grippy and tough. And there's an activity light on top of the lid to show network activity, so the teachers know that the kids aren't browsing the web when they're supposed to be doing their work. But according to Laptop Mag, the activity light can also be adapted for other uses, like combined with an education software so the light will flash when the student has completed a task.

Read the rest of the review at Laptop Mag. More photos of the Latitude 2100 after the jump.
