When you find yourself between a netbook and a notebook

A couple of days ago, I bumped into a long time MPC buddy and he mentioned about his interest in a netbook. With netbooks currently experiencing feature bloat, prices are creeping into the budget notebook price range - around RM2k - so I suggested, why not consider something between a netbook and a notebook?

The *book I had in mind was HP's Pavilion dv2 (PDF link). It runs on AMD's Neo processor that's more powerful than Intel's Atom processor, has a dedicated GPU and supports up to 4GB of RAM. And it doesn't look too shabby either, sporting a 12-inch 1280 by 800 resolution. That's a higher display resolution than my 12-inch iBook!
