DiGi offers free two-months trial of Windows Live Messenger

Are Malaysians really going to rush for the iPhone 3G? I'm asking this because telco's seem to be trying to react by offering cheaper 3G rates (Celcom) and in DiGi's case, offer a free two-months trial of Windows Live Messenger.

According to cellular-news, DiGi's Head of Consumer Marketing says, "Out of 26 million mobile subscribers in Malaysia, over half a million are regular Mobile Internet users." DiGi hopes to attract these mobile Internet users by offering Windows Live Messenger, an IM service on the mobile that looks and feels like the desktop version.

DiGi is offering a free two-month trial, after that, it's capped at RM3 a month, for unlimited chat with no additional data charges.
